Compete for love and pride and cameradarie... for sport,  and to showcase your endeavour to achieve greatness. Do it with humble abandon and only if you can be as gracious a loser as you would be a winner. Rarely do I agree with every judges' picks but am first to congratulate a fellow competitor for without them I would not have had the opportunity to succeed, learn and grow.

SHOW STANDINGS FOR YEAR 2010
Montreal - AEOM Exhibition
I was invited to judge the hookbill parrots this year at the AEOM Parrot Show and Exhibition in Montreal, Sept 25th-26th. I was very impressed with the variety, conformation and condition of the parrots entered. There was everything from tiny american and english budgies to some beautiful rosellas, kakarikis, conures, bourkes, quakers, lovebirds, alexandrines... to name but a few. There were even 2 white eyed conures, the owner of which has the first breeding award for this species in Canada! It was a wonderful opportunity to encourage new exhibitors and to pass along some tips while evaluating each parrot. My thanks to Jocelyn who ran tirelessly throughout the show and the many, many hours and days she devoted to getting the show in order. Only those of us who have done this can appreciate what she accomplished. I hope many members will get involved next year as a club is only as good as the members that participate! Thanks also to my good friend Pam who acted as my secretary and Susan who stewarded for me.
